We are on Slack’s free plan called “Lite”, it supports 5 integrations and searching back 10,000 messages.

Benefits of slack are it’s rich user interface, cross-platform support, great media/attachment support, great integration support, and 2FA.

For those who insist on using IRC, our Official IRC Channels will now sync with their Slack equivalents.

Request an invite and join our slack community!

We may be able to script something or find a script that adds signups to our slack group. Same with when people sign up in our terminal when they run docpad run for the first time (as the prompt asks them if they want to be added to the mailing list at this time as well).

Just setup so people can now request invites to join our group without us having to manually do anything, which is a huge win! As I couldn’t manually invite while I was travelling as it can only be manually done via logging into the web interface - now with this, it’s all automated. Would definitely be good to somehow link our discourse forum and slack ids together, but I suspect this will require a paid slack plan.

I’ve updated our old IRC Channel description to now mention the Slack room.
