I’ve read it twice would defiantly read it again. It also has such an interesting history.

Which translations do people recommend?

The Fitzgerald translation has a poorly formatted ebook, and the scene at the beach in Book 2 is very confusing about who was talking to who. However it retains a lot of the mythological interactions of the time:

  • dreams are there own entities: the dream visits the dreamer and then departs
  • the sun is an entity: the sun greets the men on the beach
  • collective moods are entities: the hubbub descended upon the crowd
